the Rehearsals

So after picking out 12 competitors from 22 applicants last January 14, 2008 then came rehearsals. this is a sample of how rehearsals were conducted, the practice studio at the 4th floor of the Manila Film Center wasn't able to meet the schedule so we hauled the band equipment and the sound system in my office and our musical director Terence Guillermo rehearsed the January Finalists with our in-house band BLACK PIPE.

For more than a week, everybody had to bear with the constant banging and playing in my office.

It was quite difficult as well for everyone since we had to cut down the songs to approximately 2 minutes each so we can only play the highlights and whichever highlight the singer wanted to show off. After a week, it turrned out pretty well. Today, the sound system was delivered and installed at the main theatre of the manila film center. Tonight, everybody is on overtime to refurbish the set design and the other technical requirements of tomorrow's show.

The First Search is on the way...

Last January 14, we short-listed applicants to 22 candidates from the first round of auditions. This yielded 15 finalists to the first ever Search for the Amazing Philippine Singing Star...

January 17... rehearsal for the January 26 show begins. The contestants are currently rehearsing their numbers with Black Pipe, the official session band of this singing contest..

The Amazing Philippine Singing Star Search is open to the public and will be taped as live on the 26th of this month at the Manila Film Center and will be aired at IBC 13 on February 2, 2008. See you there.
